Catching the train for a Sunday afternoon excursion .

Escambia RR Engine # 4, pulling a wood tender, two boxcars probably full of supplies for the logging camp, and a passenger car is at the intersection of the Escambia RR and the L&N main track (foreground). The picture is taken from the area of where Front Street crosses the L&N tracks.

Often folks would travel to the woods for enjoyment or to visit relatives in South Alabama. Note the "conductor" standing beside the cab of the locomotive and the mill storage sheds in the background.
